Skills put to the test

John recalls a time working over the telephone, assisting a customer with broadband service issues: "While I worked over the telephone a customer came through to me that was having issues with their boardband service. i completed full DPA with them, their name i will keep hidden to respect their ID. but they where worryed that they did not have access to the emerginey services due to their service not being available. plus they had a disabled son and had to borrow their friends phone just so that they could place the call with me today. i reasurred them i would do everything that i can to help them get their service back up and running! so i asked them if it was ok to place them on hold on the call and with their permission went over to my line manager expained the situation to them and they said that they would take over and report it that very day. i returned to the call and told them what i had done and the customer loved that i actually listen to her and that very day. later on their services was restorted!"
